What is Tempo Book It?
What the plugin does, what it runs on, and how the pieces fit together.
Tempo Book It turns your own WordPress website into a complete booking system for a club that runs classes or sessions with limited places: dance schools, football clubs, karate dojos, gymnastics clubs, swim schools, music tuition and anything similar.
Your site may use different words. Tempo lets you rename class, student and teacher under Settings → Branding & vocabulary; these docs use the defaults.
What it does
One plugin covers the whole job, end to end:
- For your members: a guided booking flow where a parent picks their child, chooses a class, chooses between single sessions or a term package, and pays online. Families manage bookings, credit and student details from their own account area.
- For your teachers and coaches: a fast register that works on a phone at the door of the class. No WordPress admin needed.
- For the office: terms, classes and a timetable; a searchable bookings hub; transfers and cancellations with account credit instead of refund headaches; editable emails; reports with CSV export; and a permanent audit trail of everything.
How the pieces fit
Your WordPress site
A member books through Tempo → Tempo creates a WooCommerce order → your provider takes the payment into your own account.
WordPress is the website itself; you own it and it carries your branding.
WooCommerce is the free shop system for WordPress, and Tempo uses it for money. Every booking becomes a normal WooCommerce order, so payments, refunds and order history all work the way any online shop does, through your own payment provider and into your own account. There is no per-booking platform fee.
Tempo Book It adds everything club-shaped on top: terms, classes, capacity, family accounts, registers, credit, emails and reports.
The matching theme is optional. Tempo works with any well-behaved WordPress theme, but the free matching theme is built around Tempo's screens and is the quickest way to a polished front end. See Installing the matching theme.
What it is not
Tempo is not a hosted platform that owns your data and takes a cut of each booking. It runs on your site, your members pay you directly, and everything it records stays in your own database.
