Promo codes
Percentage or fixed-amount discounts, limited to chosen events or performances, with a date window, a use cap and a minimum ticket count.
Promo codes live under TBI Box Office → Promo codes. As soon as one code exists, the checkout gains a promo code box; until then buyers never see one.
Creating a code
New code asks for:
- The code itself, and an optional label buyers see ("Early bird 10% off").
- Discount type: a percentage off, or an amount off in your currency.
- Applies to: everything, chosen events, or chosen performances.
- Valid from and valid until, both optional. Leave them empty and the code is always valid.
- Maximum uses, where 0 means unlimited.
- Minimum tickets in the booking before the code applies.
- Status: active or paused.
How a code is applied
A code is applied to the whole booking, at checkout and at the box office till. The buyer sees the discount before they pay. A use is counted only when the order is paid, so an abandoned checkout does not eat into a capped code.
Editing, pausing and deleting
Pause a code to stop it working without losing it. Deleting a code is final for the code, but orders that used it keep their discount.
Seeing how a code did
The Promo codes table in Reports lists the orders that used each code, what the discount cost and what those orders were worth.
