Installing Pro and activating your licence

Upload the plugin, activate it with the licence key from your purchase email, and know what happens at renewal or if you stop paying.

Pro is a second plugin that sits beside the free one. Installing it takes a few minutes.

Before you start

Make sure Tempo Book It Box Office is installed, active and up to date. Pro needs version 1.1.3 or newer; if the free plugin is older, Pro tells you so on the Plugins screen and waits.

1. Buy and download

Buy Pro from the Box Office Pro page. The checkout is run by Freemius, our licensing partner. When it completes you get an email with two things: a download link for the plugin zip and your licence key. Keep the email; the key is what activates Pro on your site, and you will need it again if you move to a new site.

2. Upload and activate

Go to Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin, choose the zip you downloaded, install it and activate it. Pro adds its own screens to the TBI Box Office menu rather than a menu of its own: Box office, Promo codes, Spike mode, Scanner, and the Designer inside Venues.

3. Enter your licence key

The first time Pro is activated it asks for the licence key. Paste it in and activate. That connects the site to your purchase, which is what enables the designer and what lets Pro update itself from the Plugins screen like any other plugin.

Until a key is activated the designer shows a notice instead of the canvas. Everything else in Pro is there straight away.

Tip

the licence is for one live site. Freemius does not count a local or staging copy against it, so you can activate the same key there to rehearse.

Managing your licence

Your licence, its renewal date and your billing are managed on the Freemius account page that Pro adds to your WordPress admin, and in the customer portal linked from your purchase email. Either is where you move the licence to a new site or cancel the subscription.

Renewals, updates and stopping

Updates arrive on the Plugins screen while the licence is active, the same as any other plugin.
Renewal happens automatically at the end of the year or month, unless you cancel first.
If you stop paying, Pro keeps working but stops receiving updates and support.
If you deactivate Pro, the free plugin carries on with everything you sold, drew and set up. Nothing is deleted. Your seat plans, band colours, promo codes and queue settings stay in the database and come back if you reactivate.
